Over the past year, we have been very
busy here at The Cattle CO.
After the success of last year's bred
heifer and cow sale, and this fall with The Elite Event
we decided to gear up and plan for a
spring sale for this year. After much deliberation,
it was decided to purchase one of the
bulls that we leased last year,
BHCS Thrillseeker,
to use on many of the Maine based
cows at Cummings Cattle. Thank you to Brad Hook
and the Sandeen family for sharing
one of their great A.I. bulls with us. We look forward
to seeing the Thrillseekers come this
March!
Next, it was decided that we needed
to take a proactive approach to breeding away
from possible TH calves. We
partnered with Brad Hanewich from Indiana and leased
the TH free and PHA pedigree free
Heatseeker son
Goldmember from Brad this past
spring. The
Goldmember
calves are becoming very popular and many are fetching
premiums in sales all across the
country. Take advantage of many of the bred heifers
and cows that are bred to him and
sleep easy knowing that there will not be any
genetic defects and that most of the
Goldmember
calves come out rather easy!
Last but certainly not least, The
Cattle CO has purchased the maternal club calf sire
Ice Breaker
(Ice Pick x Meyer 734). After having many great heifers out of
this bull
including one that is
Lot 18 in
this year's NO BULL sale and one that we sold to
Scott Coffey that will sell in the
Season Finale sale this December, we decided to
purchase 100% of this legend in the
making. A chance to partner with us may come
up shortly on this awesome aged bull!
Not many aged bulls look better than they do
as a yearling, but Ice Breaker looks
great! Check in for an aged picture very soon!
All of the heifers and cows that The
Cattle CO will sell this fall will be guranteed to have
calves that will not be TH or PHA
positive. You will have live calves! This is our best set to
date so take advantage of the work
and time that was put in to this good set of cattle!
